Want to become a Miner? 2017 Training Camp Info.

Welcome to the English River Miners of the Tier II Junior A Superior International Hockey League! We pride ourselves in running a first class franchise that expects our players to be good on the ice and even better off the ice. With the English River Miners, players demonstrate this in living our mission statement: Humility, Integrity and Courage. We are building men for others; teaching life through hockey. Our team is regularly involved in helping other groups through fundraising, assisting with youth programs, and/or visiting area schools. With our high standards, our team will have a daily curfew in effect, as well as team rules that we expect all players to follow.

Team fees for this season are $2500.00 CDN. Fees can be paid in two equal instalments, 1st payment will be due upon making the team and the 2nd instalment will be due December 1, 2017. For this fee, each player receives the following hockey equipment: tape, laces, pant covers, gloves, helmets and visors, towels, equipment bags, track suits, practice jerseys and socks. Fees also cover hotel rooms and meals on all the road trips. Finally and the mostcostly, is the payment to billet families. This ensures that our billet families properly feed and care for your son for the seven to eight months he will be with us. Billet parents go through criminal background checks and provide safe homes with positive environments. The Miners organization has a very strong billet program with dedicated people who are in weekly contact with the billet coordinator.

Our main camp will be held in Red Lake, Ontario on September 6, 7 & 8.
