Dryden GM @ Miners – March 2, 2018

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs riding a 6 game win streak and a move into first place in the SIJHL standings made the trek up HWY 105 to face the English River Miners at the Cochenour Arena. Landon Pavlisin would start in net for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs while Michael Lenko would start in net for the Miners.
Dryden GM would get an early jump in the game. At 1:13 Ted Davis would score his 4th since joining the Ice Dogs finishing off a pass from Evan Walls. Both goalies would make some saves over the period before Dante Tisi would tie the game at 18:47 with a slapshot beating Pavlisin for his 3rd of the season. After 20 minutes shots on goal tied at 14 and the score is tied at 1.
Second period action saw the Miners kill off an early penalty before Jacob Siebenga scored his 15th of the season on a pass from Spencer Milne. Dryden GM would tie it up at 10:48 when Connor Mowatt banged a rebound past Lenko for his 4th of the season. Dryden GM would make it 3-2 at 13:11 on the power play when Jacen Bracko picked up the loose puck and put it over the line while a scramble was going on in front of the Miners net for his 40th of the season. Miners not happy with the call on the ice ended up with a bench minor and found themselves on the wrong side of a 5 on 3. Miners were able to keep the Ice Dogs at bay and killed off the 5 on 3. The Dryden GM Ice Dogs controlled the second period out shooting the Miners 18-7 in the second period and lead 3-2 after 40 minutes.
Play in the third went back and forth before Jacob Siebenga scored his 16th of the season while the teams were playing 4 on 4 hockey at 12:30. Miners would get the go ahead goal on the power play at 14:53. Sam Cirone deflected the point shot from Kyle Rosolowski for his 8th and a 4-3 Miners lead. Micahael Lenko would shut the door on the Ice Dogs for the final 5 minutes and despite out shooting the Miners 12-9 in the third period and 44-30 on the night the Miners win the game 4-3.
Goldcorp Red Lake Mines “Hard to Play Against” Helmet went to Jacob Siebenga who scored 2 goals and passed Michael DiLullo for the franchise all time rookie points in a season.
Ethan Wong had a strong game even taking a good slash while making the pass on Siebenga’s second goal was named the “Mucker” of the night.
