The Minnesota Iron Rangers made the trip across the border and up Highway 105 to the Cochenour Arenato face the English River Miners. Rob Ivy would get the start in net for the Rangers while Michael Lenko would make his 4th straight start for the Miners.
Mark Sanchez would open the scoring just 57 seconds into the first period scoring his 18th of the season to make it 1-0 for the Rangers. Landon Russell would even the score at 1 tipping home a Kyle Rosolowski shot while on the power play at 4:30. At 7:59 Stratton Pickett would notch his 5th of the season to make it 2-1 Miners. After 20 minutes of play the Miners out shoot the Rangers 14-10 and lead 2-1.
Second period action had Michael DiLullo scoring his 14th of the year at 14:53 to give the Miners a 3-1 lead. Joel Nagy would make it 3-2 scoring on a penalty shot for his 3rd of the season at 16:33. Neither team could find the back of the net before the end of the second period. Miners out shoot the Rangers 16-6 in the second and lead 3-2 after 40 minutes.
Mark Ziobro started the Miners off in the third period scoring a short handed goal at 7:07 for his 4th as a Miner to make it 4-2 Miners. Spencer Milne continued his strong play of late scoring his 9th of the season at 11:43 to make the score 5-2. Rob Ivy’s night didn’t get any better after that goal. Kyle Rosolowski would make it 6-2 Miners at 15:53 before Jacob Siebenga would finish of the scoring at 17:23 to make it 7-2 for the Miners.
