Iron Rangers @ Miners – January 27, 2018

For the second straight night the Minnesota Iron Rangers take on the English River Miners at the Cochenour Arena. Both teams would have changes in goal as Tyler Thompson would get the start for the Rangers while Westin Cardwell got the nod for the Miners.
For the second straight night fans didn’t have to wait long to see a goal. 55 seconds into the first period Ethan Wong scored his 10th of the year beating Thompson. The score would stay that way until 11:02 when Aaron Koivunen scored his first SIJHL goal. After 20 minutes of play the Miners held the slight edge in shots 9-8 and the score is tied 1-1.
Spencer Milne got the scoring going in the second period scoring his 10th of the season at 2:03 to give the Miners a 2-1 lead. That lead was short lived as Anthony Beltrame scored his 1st SIJHL goal on the power play at 4:11 to tie the game at 2.
