Iron Rangers vs Miners – December 15, 2017

The Minnesota Iron Rangers made the long trek up the 105 from Hoyt Lakes, MN for a 2 game stint against the English River Miners. Rob Ivy would start in net for the Rangers while Michael Lenko go the nod for the Miners.

The Miners would strike first on the power play courtesy of a shot from Brody Jennings point shot at 15:14 of the first period. Miners had the lead in shots in the first period with a 13-8 edge. Miners lead 1-0 after 20 minutes.

Second period action saw Jacob Siebenga score his 3rd of the season at 1:57. Spencer Milne’s 5th of the season would give the Miners a 3-0 lead at 10:52. Harrison Bjorgo would make it 3-1 scoring just ten seconds later while the Milne goal was being announced. That would be all the scoring in the second and the Miners out shot the Rangers 14-8 in the period.

Jacob Siebenga would score his second of the night at 16:17 of the third to put the game away for the Miners.

Michael Lenko picked up his 5th win of the season stopping 24 shots.

The Goldcorp “Hard To Play Against” hardhat would go to Spencer Milne.
