COCHENOUR, Ont. – Jacob Siebenga scored twice and assisted on another to help pace the English River Miners to a 4-1 victory over the Minnesota Iron Rangers in Superior International Junior Hockey League action Friday at Cochenour Arena.
A late power play allowed English River to pick up the lone marker in the first frame, which was provided by Brody Jennings.
Siebenga then supplied the eventual game-winner 1:57 into the middle stanza before teammate Spencer Milne extended the home team’s cushion at 10:52.
Minnesota got one back 50 seconds later as Harrison Bjorgo notched his third of the season with Joel Nagy and Matt Butler helping set-up the play.
Siebenga then finished off the night’s scoring in the third to cap off his three-point evening.
Shots on goal in the contest favoured the Miners 42-25 with Michael Lenko picking up the win while Rob Ivy suffered the loss.
