THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Players who competed in the Superior International Junior Hockey League this season continue to make commitments to collegiate and university programs in both Canada and the U.S.
Here’s an update on those commitments as of May 24:
DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS
Jacen Bracko, (F) Concordia (MIAC)
The SIJHL’s leading scorer and most valuable player is off to Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., where he will attend school and skate for Cobbers men’s hockey program that competes out of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
In 56 games played this season, the 20-year-old Calgary, Alta., product led all SIJHL skaters in both goals and points with 48 and 81 respectively.
Bracko also finished in the Top 10 in the league in assists (33), shorthanded markers (3) and game-winning goals (5) as did his nine power play tallies, 12-man advantage helpers and 21 extra man points.
He did not miss a game in his SIJHL career while registering 89 goals, 73 assists and 162 points to his credit in 112 regular season contests.
Postseason play saw him supply 16 points, including nine tallies, in 19 outings helping Dryden win back-to-back Bill Salonen Cup titles.
ENGLISH RIVER MINERS
Brody Jennings, (D) University of Victoria (BCIHL)
Returning to his home province of British Columbia, Jennings will attend the University of Victoria and play for the Vikings, who are members of the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League.
In 89 SIJHL games, the Kelowna, B.C. product suited up on defence for the Miners, he scored nine times and helped set-up 31 others while helping anchor English River’s defensive corps.

MINNESOTA IRON RANGERS
Joel Nagy, (F) University of Mary (ACHA)
Nagy wraps up his Jr. A career and will now attend the Bismarck, N.D.-based school that is gearing up to begin its inaugural season in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
The 21-year-old forward, who hails from Brooks, Alta., saw action in 44 SIJHL games in 2017-18 where he produced five goals and 15 assists for the Iron Rangers.
Three of his contests were multi-point affairs, including a single-game high three points in Minnesota’s final regular season game.
Nagy also chipped in with a goal and an assist in the playoffs.
THIEF RIVER FALLS NORSKIES
Blair Lindholm, (F) Grand Canyon University (ACHA)
The seventh member of the Norskies to commit to a program in the U.S. in the fall is Thief River Falls forward Lindholm.
Skating for his hometown side for two seasons, the 20-year-old set personal single-season bests in goals, assists and points during the 2017-18 campaign with 16, 12 and 28 respectively.
Lindholm had 46 points in 88 match-ups for the Norskies, including providing 27 markers.
Grand Canyon U is in Phoenix, Ariz., and the Lopes’ hockey program are members of the ACHA.
